Are you truly connecting with your child? Or are you engulfing them, projecting your need for connection onto them, during your attempts to connect?
In conscious parenting, oftentimes importance is placed on connection with your child. This can feel very enticing for a parent with a void, or an unmet need to feel loved.
Then what happens is an “over connection” – basically connecting using your need to connect and feel loved as a guide, without considering the child and their needs or preferences.
